Dinosaurs Downunder
Australia has many dinosaurs that are unique to our land - they aren't found anywhere else. These pictures aren't found anywhere else either! I took them on a special excursion inside Museum Victoria.
Dinosaurs and Megafauna
Where do you find fabulous beasts, for real? Ancient Australia. This land was home to awesome animals, a long time before people. First we had dinosaurs; later there were megafauna. Both have been gone a long time, but some of their bones are still around. Even some of their footsteps. Here are a few fossils surviving from our prehistoric past.
Thank you to the Melbourne Museum, for showing me these fabulous fossils and allowing me to take photos. Special thanks to paleontologists Rolf Schmidt and Tim Ziegler who were the tour guides on this trip back in time.

After the dinosaurs died, more fantastic beasts took over downunder. These creatures were warm-blooded, like us, but still very BIG. So we call them 'megafauna'. Read more about our gentle giants and bone-crunching carnivores here.
